Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who
hath gathered the
wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a
garment? who hath
established all the ends of the earth? what [is] his
name, and what [is] his
son's name, if thou canst
tell? (Proverbs 30:4)
Yahweh, the one and only creator, is the answer to the first five questions. But who is the son spoken of here?
1.) It is true that Yahshua is frequently referred to as the son of the Highest {Yahweh} (Luke 1:32; Romans 1:1-4).
2.) The believers are also referred to as "sons of Yahweh" (Romans 8:14-17, 19, 21; Gal. 4:5-7; Heb. 12:8; 1 John 3:1,2).
3.) Proverbs 30:4 was written approximately seven hundred years before Yahshua was born, and is not necessarily a reference to Messiah.
4.) Consider Exodus 4:22 (KJS) And thou shalt say unto
Pharaoh, Thus saith {Yahweh}, Israel [is] my son,
[even] my firstborn:
23 And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may
serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son,
[even] thy firstborn.
